Two weeks ago, the RPCh team met up in Bogota, Columbia, for architecture week to design the upcoming roadmap for RPCh. It was an eventful week full of lively discussions, team building, and a hint of nostalgia as they reunited in the city where the team was founded. 🇨🇴🙏
Here’s a brief recap of two significant discussions the team had during their architecture week:
🟡 Infrastructure & Metrics
As we approach RPCh Beta, the team plans to revamp RPCh’s infrastructure. This comes with:
1️⃣ The integration of HOPR operator into our automated workflow
2️⃣ Migrating our setup from Hetzner to Kubernetes + GCP
3️⃣ And developing a completely new monitoring system to improve stability/testing
The design details of this will be discussed in future posts.
🟡 Payment Layer & Honesty Tracking
Soon anyone running a HOPR node will be able to run an entry/exit node for RPCh relays and get paid for it. This transition to a decentralized ecosystem for RPCh means we needed to review our protocols for:
1️⃣ Rewarding node runners
2️⃣ Keeping nodes honest
The details we settled on will be released in coming posts but we’ve designed a fairer mechanism for distributing rewards that leverages capability-based APIs and a more thorough mechanism for tracking the reliability and honesty of nodes as we build towards integrating light client verification.
