Dear community, We’re launching Monte Rosa 1.92. This comes with a few new features important for all node runners! 🥳 🟡 Network Rewards 🟡 As promised, starting with this release, we are issuing rewards to our best-performing node runners, distributed in 2-week cycles. A cycle will start and end bi-weekly on a Wednesday, with the first cycle running from 22/02/2023 to 08/03/2023. All node runners on the latest release will have their uptime measured across these two weeks, and 120,000 HOPR tokens will be split amongst them at the end of the cycle, depending on their performance. Overall, one million HOPR tokens will be distributed to node runners this season. 💰 Note: The first couple of cycles will measure uptime, but the performance metric may change in the future. You can view your node’s uptime at network.hoprnet.org 🟡 HOPR Admin UI has been decoupled from HOPRd 🟡 HOPR Admin becoming a standalone app has several benefits for HOPRd. It separates the toolchain, so it no longer has to run inside HOPRd, improving resilience and allowing the community to edit and improve the UI through bounties or other incentivized programs. You may remember filling out the HOPR Admin feedback form some weeks ago: But an additional command must be run for node runners using Docker to use HOPR Admin. This has been updated in the docs: 🟡 Promiscuous Strategy 🟡 We’ve migrated and re-implemented an updated version of the automated channel management strategy: Promiscuous mode. Using this strategy will allow your node to automatically open high-quality connections while closing underfunded channels or ones connected to a node with which you have a low-quality connection. You can read up on how the strategy works here: 🟡 How to use Promiscuous Mode 🟡 Just edit your channel management strategy through HOPR Admin as shown in the docs: 🟡 Grafana Dashboards 🟡 This release promised access to the Grafana dashboards for all node runners (not just Dappnode users). And we plan to do so, but through a hotfix that will be added within the next sprint. Currently, only Dappnode users can access Grafana, as documented here: 🟡 Extra features 🟡 This release is big in terms of feature set and stability, with capability-based authorization, customizable automatic pathing, re-introducing our fund command, implementing manual ticket redemption, and a host of bug fixes and optimizations for stability. A lot of this will be covered in tomorrow’s DevUpdate. 🟡 Avado/Dappnode Installation Process 🟡 Avado & Dappnode users will have to update their nodes with the latest release using their hash as described below. This is because the latest release has not been pushed to the Dappstore but is still accessible via its hash 👇 ➡️ Dappnode users can still install the latest release using the IPFS as documented here: ➡️ Avado users as documented here: ➡️ VPS/Laptop users will find a new docker command and requirements here:
